Rachel Rairdon wins Elite 90 award for Division II women’s cross country
SIOUX FALLS, SD – Rachel Rairdon, a senior on the Augustana cross-country team, is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2021 Division II championship.
Rairdon, specialization in accounting; business and finance administration, currently wears a 4.0 GPA. She received the award after the Division II Championships Saturday afternoon in St. Leo, Fla.
The Fort Collins, Colo. Native recently placed 45th at the NCAA Division II National Championship, while she placed 9th at the Central Region II Division II Cross Country Championships of the NCAA, helping the Vikings secure their ticket to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of student-
athlete by honoring the person who has reached the pinnacle of competition at national championships
championship level in his sport, while achieving the highest academic level among his peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA competing at the Finals site for each of the NCAA Championships.
Eligible student-athletes are students in their second year or above who have participated in their sport for at least
at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.
