NParks will add a new access point to the rail corridor: Desmond Lee
SINGAPORE: The National Parks Board (NParks) will add a new rail corridor access point from Holland Green Linear Park, National Development Minister Desmond Lee said on Saturday (July 10th).
This will be the ninth rail corridor access point, making it more accessible to residents of the Holland Green Estate to enter the trail. It is expected to be completed by the third quarter of next year.
âResidents living near the rail corridor have requested more access points in order to be able to access the trail in a safer and more convenient way. There are currently eight access points in the rail corridor, âLee said in a Facebook post.

Mr. Lee made the announcement after a tree planting event in the rail corridor. The event was part of habitat restoration to âimprove the ecological connectivity of the rail corridor with nearby green spaces for our native wildlifeâ.
âIn Singapore, many of our green spaces are located close to our homes, giving us a much needed respite from the pressures of city living. But our limited land forces us to balance the many, many competing needs, âhe said.
âFor green spaces, we take a scientific approach that takes into account our island-wide ecosystem, including the ecological connectivity between these green spaces. All development will be carried out with care and sensitivity.
