Notre Dame and Wisconsin have met 16 times, and the Irish hold an 8-6-2 lead in the series. However, the teams haven’t faced each other since 1964, when Notre Dame claimed a surprise 31-7 victory on September 26 at Madison, in Ara Parseghian’s debut as head coach of the Irish.
Clashes at neutral venues are nothing new for the Notre Dame-Wisconsin series. The 1904 and 1905 games were played in Milwaukee, as legendary Irish head coach Knute Rockne led Notre Dame to a 19-0 victory over the Badgers on October 19, 1929, at Soldier Field.
Notre Dame played 12 games at Soldier Field, most recently in 2012 when the Irish routed Miami, Fla. 41-3, in a Shamrock Series clash. The Irish have an all-time record of 10-0-2 at the current home of the Chicago Bears.
Overall, Notre Dame has a 247-129-16 record against the Big Ten teams.
Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series takes the Irish Match Day experience on the road, with events for fans, alumni and college friends. More information regarding these events and the ticketing will be published ahead of the match.
