Apprentice Boys Pick Weird Design After Weird Week 1 Logo

The apprentice continues tonight as the remaining contestants are tasked with designing an electric toothbrush that will appeal to children aged six to eight.

Flight operations instructor Aaron Willis is quick to jump at the chance to lead the men’s team this week, explaining that he has struggled in the past to encourage his four young children to brush their teeth properly.

Together, the team decides that one way to involve the little ones in their dental health is to make the design fun, opting for a gender-neutral wand that should appeal to fans of witches and wizards.

In the clip below for RadioTimes.com readers, you can see how the brainstorming unfolds — and start making your predictions about whether this approach will work like magic or be a boardroom curse. Look here :

“I really like the idea that the toothbrush could be the wand,” says chief strategist and fellow candidate Akeem Bundu-Kamara.

Qualified pharmacist Navid Sole asks: “In terms of gender – male or female – are we making it neutral?

The group agrees that the best course of action is to give the wand a solid brown design, which could be used by any child, regardless of gender identity.

“If we start focusing on one genre, we leave ourselves wide open,” adds Aaron. “While we don’t need to mention sex, because you’re just a wizard with a spell-casting wand.”

Of course, this comes after their bizarre logo in last week’s cruise challenge was roundly criticized, so let’s hope for them the toothbrush design goes better.

It’s been revealed that the opposing team will be making their rocket-style toothbrush, but it’s not yet known which land will be the most successful.
