2022 Kia Niro EV almost exactly the same but with a new Kia logo – MotorBiscuit

Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming an increasingly popular option. More and more manufacturers are entering the race for electric vehicles, especially as governments are tightening environmental regulations. For this reason, the 2022 model year is home to a variety of EVs from almost every manufacturer under the sun, even companies that previously had no interest in the EV market, which brings us to the Kia Niro EV.

Based on recent announcements, the 2022 Kia Niro EV looks like a pretty solid entry into the Niro lineup. It’s basically the same as the 2021 Niro, but it comes with an aesthetic change as the company seeks to incorporate its new branding. Read on to learn more about the Niro 2022, the new logo design, and other changes added by the model.

Overall, the 2022 Kia Niro EV doesn’t add much over its previous model year, but it’s a pretty good EV nonetheless. According to Kia Media, the standard EX model will start at $ 39,990, while the EX Premium will start at $ 44,650. Currently, these are the only two versions of the model that will be released. It comes with a 201 hp electric motor and a 64 kWh battery.

The 2022 Kia Niro EV also has an estimated range of 239 miles. While it’s not the best – some EVs on the market can reach distances well over 300 miles – it’s certainly not the worst. However, it shines in terms of fuel economy, which is 105 MPGe.

New Kia logo and badge

One of the main differences of the Kia Niro EV 2022 is the updated Kia logo and badge. A new Kia logo is part of a rebranding effort that will not be fully completed until 2025. Rather than having the Kia name in a relatively standard font, the logo looks more like a “K” and an “N” backward. It looks like the company was trying to go for a more sleek and modern look than the old logo.

The logo has so far had a mixed reception. Referring to the new logo, CNET said, “Honestly, everything is a major improvement over the outgoing logo.” Others are a little confused by this. According to Creative Bloq, a Reddit user commented on the new KM car brand until another poster said it was in fact the new Kia logo. Another called it a “bogus brand of car”. It seems that while some drivers like the design, others will have to get used to it.

Regardless of the reception, the new Niro EV is designed to reflect this new Kia branding image. You can find the new Kia logo prominently on the front of the vehicle, especially to distinguish the Niro EV 2022 and its 2021 predecessor.

Additional changes added by the 2022 Kia Niro EV

Besides the rebranding, the Niro EV 2022 added some quality of life improvements. Maybe they’re not so big that 2021 Niro EV owners will be rushing to buy it, but new buyers may prefer some of the changes. The model now has a 10.25-inch touchscreen, which is larger than the 8-inch touchscreen of the Niro EV 2021. The touchscreen also comes with a high-end Harman Kardon audio system. Harman Kardon speakers are renowned for their excellent sound quality and are considered among the best sound systems in vehicles.

The one they might not prefer is a slight price increase. The EX model is now $ 900 more expensive than the 2021 EX model. The EX Premium, however, remains at the same price. For new EX buyers, it depends on whether they’re willing to shell out an extra $ 900 for a few minor features.
